Every hero has a story!

"Every hero has a story!" is the 2015 Summer Reading Program theme.  Readers of all ages will explore  heroes in stories and in real life.  The Schulenburg Public Library will present programs reflecting the theme,"Every hero has a story!"   The goal of the program is to encourage readers in our community to check out books and read stories about heroes.  To complete the summer reading program and be eligible to participate in the closing event, readers must do the following:

  • Read-to-me (infant to 4 years old) A parent or guardian must read 15 picture books to their child.
  • Ages 5-9  The child must read 15 picture books.
  • Age 10-12 The child must read 10 chapter books.
  • Age 13 and up The reader must read 10 novels.

This is a family event.  Read as a role model for your child, read to your child and help develop your child's reading skills and retain the skills learned during the school year.  The program is free and begins May 26 and ends on July 14.  The Schulenburg Public Library will offer story hour, craft time, movies,  and puppet shows during the week and on Saturdays.  The programs begins on Saturday, June 6 and will end on Saturday, July 25.
