Library Friends Foundation Receives Grants
The Schulenburg Public Library Friends Foundation receive a $5,000 Tocker Foundation grant for the purchase of new books.
The Tocker Foundation has contributed over $81,580 to the Schulenburg Public Library Friends Foundation.
The Tocker Foundation was established in 1964. From 1992, the foundation's mission is to help small rural libraries serving populations of 12,000 or less. The Tocker Foundation was established to implement the philanthropic interest of Phillip and Olive Tocker. Tocker grants are given to libraries to serve as community centers, information resources and provide literacy and bilingual programs.
The Texas Women's League of La Grange, Texas awarded a $1,000 grant for the purchase of new books to the Schulenburg Public Library Friends Foundation.

$100,000 Donated to the Library
Joe and Roxanne Orsak are donating $100,000 to the Schulenburg Library Foundation Inc. “Friends.” The Orsaks are giving the donation to help the library meet its mission, “The mission of the Schulenburg Public Library is to provide free and unrestricted access to information, educational, cultural and recreational library materials and services in a clean, comfortable, secure environment for people of all ages.” The Orsaks wish to honor teachers who had a great influence on their lives. These teachers are Shirley Winkelman, Jerry Odstrcil, Lila Clark, Pat Balcar, and many others.
This donation begins the library fund drive by The Schulenburg Library Foundation Inc. to meet the needs of the Schulenburg Public Library.

The Celebration will be June 1, 2019 from 9:30AM to 11:30AM in the library parking lot on 310 Simpson Street, Schulenburg. There will be a raffle with tickets available in the library. Ask the library staff for information about the awesome prizes.

The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce awarded a mini-grant to the Schulenburg Public Library. The library is grateful for this grant which will be used for a summer program.

Friday, June 7, 2019 Children’s Program on “Dealing With a Bully”. At 10:30am, Bastrop Crisis Center will present the positive approach on “How to Deal with a Bully”.
Monday, June 10, 2019 Movie Night at the Library. The movie will begin at 5PM.
Wednesday, June 12, 2019 First Aid/Safety. At 10:30 am, Sharon Muzny, Fayette Co. EMS Director La Grange, Texas will present a program on “First Aid and Safety in the Home”.
Wednesday, June 19, 2019 “Buzz” on by the library to meet Kim Lehman of Austin, Texas. Come have fun learning about bees.
