COVID Vaccines Available
For immediate release March 17, 2021
Fayette and Lee county officials in conjunction with St. Marks Hospital and Fayette County EMS are offering a Covid vaccine shot clinic Monday, March 22 at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.
“We were notified this morning by the state that we are receiving 1,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine for a local shot clinic. This is open to anyone in the 1A, 1B and 1C categories. Caregivers, teachers, people aged 50 and over and those with underlying medical conditions are all eligible to receive the vaccine,” said Craig Moreau, Fayette County chief of emergency management.
“We are fortunate to have National Guard personnel deployed to help with this clinic. We will be holding it at the fairgrounds and appointment times will be scheduled by St. Marks’ personnel. Anyone interested in getting a vaccine can register by calling St. Mark’s at 979-242-2325 or by online at http://smmctx.org/getpage.php?name=COVID_Vaccine,” he said.
“We hope that this is just the first of many clinics we will hold here. It is our goal to get as many people vaccinated in Fayette, Lee and surrounding areas as we can.”
A follow up clinic will be held in approximately three weeks at the fairgrounds for the second dose.
