Schulenburg Public Library

Summer Reading Program

"On Your Mark, Get Set...Read"

The Schulenburg Public Library is participating in the 2016 Texas Summer Reading Program.  This year's theme is "On Your Mark, Get Set...Read."  The goal of the  Texas Summer Reading Program is to encourage reading.  For books to count toward the program, the books must be checked out of the Schulenburg Public Library.  The age groups for the reading program are:   infant to 4- years old where a parent or guardian reads 15 picture books to their child; age 5-9, the child is required to read 15 picture books; and age 10-12, the child is required to read 10 chapter books.

Please encourage your child to participate in the 2016 Texas Summer Reading Program. Participating in the Texas Summer Reading Program will help your child retain the reading skills  acquired during the school year and make gains during the summer.  Come to the library and sign up your child for the Reading Program.

Story hour and other activities  on designated Monday-Saturdays will be at the library.  The first designated program is Friday, June 3, 2016.  The Reading program, "On Your Mark, Get Set...Read" ends on Thursday, July 14, 2016.
