2017 Summer Reading Programs

June 1  Sign-up for the Summer Reading Program begins.  This year's theme is "Build a Better World."

June 2 10:30 AM  Ranger Cindy presents a program on wildlife. Ranger Cindy is the Outreach Coordinator of the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority at Brackenridge Recreation complex Texana Park & Campground.

June 10  10:00 AM Storybook Theatre from New Braunfels, Texas will present "Two Pigs and T.H.E. Wolf." 

June 13 10:30 AM  Mini-Horse Helpers Stop by and visit with "Lil Bit" the miniature horse.

June 19 5:30 PM  Movie Night at the Library.

June 21 10:30 AM  Kathy Durst of Hostyn, Texas will present a program on art in nature. Ms. Durst will combine science and art with nature's clay and leaves.   The book, Garden Classroom, by Cathy James will be read followed by a craft.

June 24 10:00 AM  FAME will present stories and hands on activities on gardening and growing your own food.  Learn how to "Eat a Rainbow!"

June 28  10:30 AM  The Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum will present the story and discussion of flight.   There will be a Library  Scavenger Hunt  following the presentation.

June 30 10:30 AM  The Fayette Electric Cooperative will present an electric safety program.  The purpose is to present the serious dangers from high voltage power lines and how to prevent electrical contact injuries.  Participants must be 8 and older.

July 1  10:00 AM  Avanti, a leadership group of young women from Houston, Texas will present a children's puppet show.

July 15  10:00 AM  John O'Bryant, Magician, will present an awesome magical performance.

July 17  5:30 PM  Movie Night at the Library.

July 20  10:30 AM The Central Texas Bee Keepers Association will present a program geared for children. 

July 22  10:00 AM  Cowboy stories and Western Songs will be presented by Mike Stroup,  Bad Bob Rohan (fiddle and award winning western cartoonist), and Cowboy Bob, the Fun Roper (Dobro and roping).
